when humans are dead, we do not require energy/ATP in our body anymore and the
body and organs fail to function. in plants, especially apples, ethylene is
still produced after it is picked and will eventually ripen. but ethylene
synthesis requires DNA replication/protein synthesis which requires ATP. i am
puzzled, and still wondering if plants are active of these process even after
they are picked. thankyou for taking the time to read this, very much
appreciated. Roxanne.
