Hi Rigela,

Catalase works pretty much the same no matter what; within physiological parameters, it catalyses the same reactions at the same rate.

It may be that you can speculate about whether active oxygen is produced at different rates during various metabolic disorders; but that is distince from whether catalase functions.

You can also have a look at, http://www.jbc.org/cgi/content/abstract/279/31/32804, which shows that catalase deficient mice are viable. They may be more susceptible to various forms of disease.
