I'm basing my question ofn the basis of mitosis and the duration of the cell
cycle. Recently, I've been reading through some text and noticed that there
are very few differences between plant and animal cell mitosis (of the cell
cycle) except for the fact that plant cells do not have centrioles (well, up
to current research, they don't) and that plant cells perform cytokinesis with
a telophase plate while animal cells use a cleavage furrow. But what I'm
wondering specifically is that is there any difference between the mitosis
division rates of a plant or animal cell. For example, would an onion root
cell divide faster than a whitefish blastula or is it just the same rate.
Thanks!
