Consider a resonant circuit.  The voltage across some component in the circuit 
has the form, Ge^(-at)sin(wt + P).  Thus, the roots in the "s" domain are 
complex.  To solve for "P", the phase angle of the voltage, I must find the 
angle of either -a + wj or -a - wj.  But which one? That is my question.
