Last week there was a news story about an experiment in which a photon was split in half and sent down a fiber optic cable which had a "Y" at each end. According to the news story each photon, when the half photon came to the "Y" at each end of the cable for some reason the half phonton choose to take the same branch as did it's other half. . . b \_________________/b1 / | \ a | a1 1/2 | 1/2 . Question 1: How is this possible? That is how does each half photon know what the other half is doing when in this case they were 7 miles apart? Question 2: How many times can a photon be split and still act like a photon?
