Hmm, well I did a quick pass through the various UFO sites, and even a search on usenet, but found almost no mention of the Zetans. Back in the old days, when I still read usenet, someone posted a lot of 'zeta' stuff -- sounded more delusional than even the usual UFO spam. Zeta is still probably in my kill file...

On the astronomy front, Zet 1 Ret (HD 20766) and Zet 2 Ret (HD 20807) are a wide binary system in the southern skies. Each component is a G star much like the Sun. The binary orbit period is long enough that planetary systems could be stable around these stars; however, to the best of my knowledge, no one has detected any planets so far. They are 36 lightyears from Earth.

Here at Project Phoenix , we observed Zet Ret while we were deployed to the Parkes radio-telescope in Australia. We didn't detect any radio transmissions.
