Subject: A question about Virtual Reality.

Is there any way to video tape a real 360 degree surrounding (perhaps by 
using multiple video cameras at the same time pointing in all directions), 
and then somehow play it back through a virtual reality headset, so that 
whenever the user turns his/her head they'll seamlessly see the 
appropriate viewing angle?  I know the question seems a little odd, but 
I'm trying to put together a simulator and this question is just one 
aspect of my invention.  Also, is there anyone an aspiring young inventor 
like myself can trust to talk to about my inventions for some engineering 
help?  I love this site but I'm not quite sure about who I can trust with 
my ideas?  Thanks again!
