I was wondering how much chemical energy would it take for a person, who weighs
say 140 pounds, to jump 1 inch off of the ground? I would think that the amount
of ATP needed for the muscle contractions could be estimated, but I'm not certain
how the muscles or muscle action is quantitated, and how many ATP equivalents can
be interpreted into a certain amount of contraction to get someone off of the
ground? Thanks.
