I just adopted a little calico kitty.  Years ago I was told that all
calicos were female.  Why is that?  I assume it has to do with a
sex-linked trait, but I thought most sex-linked traits affected males
more than females (since they only have one X chromosome).  Please be 
detailed in your answer, I know enough about genetics to understand a
technical explanation.  Also, are there any male calicos?
