Last night during a thunder storm, lightning hit close to my house. There
was a very loud "explosion" type of sound, then seconds later two of my
childrens' battery operated toys came on. (Actually they made the sound
they make when being turned off.) This morning we found several things
that no longer are working because they had been "fried". The two toys
were beside some of these things in different rooms of the house. I was
wondering if the lightning hit could actually make the toys come on? Most
of the things that have been fried are not really connected to each other.
Could the static from the hit cause problems with the things that no longer
work?

Thanks for any information you can give me.
