MadSci Network: Astronomy |
I have spent some time researching this, and have learned that Alpha Centuri is a three-star star system. I was wondering if any of these stars is close (in the cosmic sense) to death, and if so, what will be the effects of its death on our solar system and planet. Is this star large enough to create a black hole? Or will it simply explode? And what could each of these senarios mean for us?
Re: What will happen to the Earth when Alpha Centuri 'dies'?
