I understand that Sodium Nitrate will release NO when it is heated without
excess oxygen. Which Oxide of sodium is left as the by product? What
determines this?
NaNO3 --> NaO2 + NO
or
NaNO3 --> Na2O + NO
or
NaNO3 --> Na2O2 + NO
