Message:
When carrying out the single replacement reaction between solid aluminum
and a copper(II) chloride solution, in addition the the solid copper and
acqueous aluminum chloride, bubbles are produced. What is the identity of
this gas? When collected and tested it seemed to be colorless, odorless
and nonflammable.
