Hi,

A most intriguing question, that will leave me
examining the outside of my house much more
carefully.

Woodpeckers peck wood, as they should, to get
at insects in the wood. So, the problem, and
the solution is not getting rid of the woodpeckers,
but getting rid of their food source. See this
Web page: http://doyourown
pestcontrol.com/ask.htm#woodpeckers

In fact, a search of altavista yielded
a bunch of home remedies

Good luck
