Some refeences state that there are some colour blind animals - does this mean they see totally in black and white. Other sources say all animals have some colour receptors, its just that some have more than others. Are there any totally black and white vision animals? If so, which? The articles in the madsci archives (which I have already read) do NOT answer the specifics of my question (put another way): Are there some totally colour blind animals (i.e. that see no colour whatsoever), or do even those with the poorest vision still see some colour?
