The ferric ferrocyanide is adsorbed on activeted carbon.

Based on a flow rate of 3000 gpm, 51 000 lb/day of GAC would be required to remove 6.3 lb/day of cyanide ( ferric ferrpocyanide) from the refinery's effluent.
