Subject: Do cicadas feel pain?

The other night I came home late and was hungary so I started making 
pasta, I heard a fluttering in my windowsil and found an enormous cicada.  
The bug freaked me out so i started dousing it with bugspray and it fell 
into the drain. Assuming it was dead i started to strain my pasta, when 
the boiling water spilled all over the bug it let out the most loud scream 
I have ever heard a bug make, I jumped back (spilling water and noodles 
all over the floor). I know this sounds insane but I have been losing 
sleep over this.  It was the most freaky thing that has ever happened to 
me, I have never heard a sound like it, I would never have purposely 
tortured a bug like this!! It was so loud!!   Thankyou very much for 
taking the time to answer my question!!
