Good question -
Chickens do have tail bones -- just like dogs, horses, and even -- believe
it or not -- people. We have tail bones too -- and they hurt if you break
them by taking a hard fall on your backside!

The tailbones are called caudal vertebrae and they are the ones that are
located after the sacrum and pelvis. Usually there are between 5-10
depending on the species. Chikckens have about 5 little ones. The best way
to see them is to look at a chicken from the store and examine the tail or
even have an adult cut through the soft tissue to the bone.
