If a vehicle crashed into a lake with a full tank of gasoline, and the tank ruptured spilling its contents, how much surface area could gasoline occupy? For simplicity's sake, I'm wondering how much surface area a gallon of gasoline could occupy on the surface of the water (how thin can it be spread?), assuming the lake is quite large.
