I am aware that alcohol may pass through the blood barrier of the brain, but I
am wondering what passes through this rather impermiable layer to cause the
medula and pons to react to, say a change in pH? I have the same question about
the thyroid and calcium. I realize a change in homostasis cause these to try and
achieve stability, but what REALLY happens?
