Subject: Can one eliminate a tumor for exemple with nuclear fission.

If splitting an atom means releasing its energy potential,could one combine 
nuclear chemestry and medicine for clearly significant causes.For exemple, 
destroying a tumors, cancers or other similar problems.
Or have we already explored this horizon and excluded the possibility.
