Why do think you are getting AgO from your reaction? The reaction products of silver nitrate + sodium hydroxide will yield silver hydroxide + sodium nitrate. The reaction will proceed as follows:

AgNO3 + NaOH --> AgOH(ppt) + NaNO3
silver nitrate + sodium hydroxide --> silver hydroxide + sodium nitrate

NOTE: ppt means precipitate

The AgOH is insoluble in water and will precipitate out. Check out the links listed below.
