I went to open a can of Diet Coke and it exploded. The can was pretty cold but
not frozen. There was so much pressure inside this can of pop that the top and
bottom of the can bowed out. Also, the hole in the tab area was as small as
the tip of a felt pen and all the liquid escaped out of this hole in a matter
of seconds. This incident has become a great deal of conversation between me
and my friends. I showed my Chemist teacher the can and she was quite
surprised on how the shape of the can changed. Also too, the hole in the tab
seemed to open larger by itself. I would love to be able to go back to school
in the fall and be the one to teach my teacher something. Thank you, Terri
