I once read certain types of snails in estuaries can digest toxic PCB reducing
them to a chemically inert substance. These snails are an important part of the
detoxifying ecosystem chain.
Is it true that certain slugs and snails can naturally digest toxic PCB’s (one
of the most toxic substances known)?
