According to a recent New York Times Magazine, the millenium is the largest 
fixed unit of time in general use.  Words like eon, era and age might describe 
longer periods, but do not indicate any specific number of years.  So ten 
thousand years would have to be called simply that, or perhaps you could call it 
ten millenia or a hundred centuries.
