The animal was almost sloth-like, and lived in the canopes of the rain 
forest.
We saw it on a program on the Animal Planet channel. It was jet black 
and
striking looking.
The name of the critter was tossed about flippantly, but the best we 
could
make out it was pronounced as benteran. (Ah for the a sound.)
