While looking on the web for information on a new pet I have the "jerboa", I read that they eat seeds, insects and suculant plants. That they are nocturnal and do not drink water. The manager of the pet store told me they were better pets than a gerbil or hamster, though they cost much more $29.95 instead of the usual $3.99. Having had a hamster before I picked the jerboa. The life span should be greater also. I have also read that they were not nocturnal and need water. I was also under the impression that it could have the same living conditions as a hamster or gerbil. I bought it a habitrail, and now have read they use the back legs for jumping. Is this enough space for it to get enough exercise. I am now wondering if I should keep the jerboa. Can I care for him properly? Please help, Thank you for you time. This website is wonderful, I have read many interesting facts here today and will return often. Thanks again!!
