Thanks for sending the question, Yasmeen. I’m afraid that you will have a tough time simply turning regular copy paper into something soft and cloth-like. From your question, I assume you are interested in a simple surface treatment to change the paper from smooth to soft, which is extremely difficult. There is a big difference in how a soft piece of paper (like a paper towel or toilet paper) is made when compared to a hard, smooth piece of paper (like copy paper or cardboard). When copy paper is made, it is pressed to increase its density and to make it smooth so it is better writing and printing. This pressing makes the paper hard. When making tissue paper, care is taken not to press the paper to keep it soft. Since the A4 paper you refer to has already been pressed, it will be nearly impossible to change it into soft paper without remaking the paper. I previously answered a question regarding making tissue paper out of recycled paper. You can find the link to the answer here. You can follow the instructions to make your A4 paper into something that is softer. You won’t be able to make a tissue as soft as you can buy but with some practice you should be able to make something that seems softer than the copy paper.
