Kids love to shake my bottle of corn oil and water and watch the solutions
seperate back to their heavier and lighter levels. Are there THREE common
solutions I can layer into a bottle so that after shaking, the
tumbling mixture reverts back to three, seperate, immiscible solutions. I
tried glycerin but it mixed with the oil. I color each solution too for
effect. Liquid mercury hasn't been tried! as isn't it too dangerous?
Thank you. Mike Warme (
